Food Review Episode 41: MoonCake

ivanfenzelyyang

Last Tuesday was Mid Autumn Festival and it is mooncake time!

This year decided to buy different mooncake to try and I bought like 5 of them!

They are

  1. Raffles Hotel Champagne Mooncakes

  2. Ritz Carlton Assorted Mooncakes

  3. Ritz Carlton Mao Shan Wang Mooncakes

  4. Tang Marriott Assorted Mooncakes

  5. Changhosek Assorted Mooncakes

Today would be a review of them, not all of them, but just like some of them!

Raffles Hotel Champagne Mooncakes

I bought it like 1 week before Mid Autumn, and luckily still have! I bought it for like $79.

To be honest, I love this snowskin mooncake! The champagne flavour is very nice and not that strong. The truffle ball inside is like filled with champagne and it just blend in so nicely with the snowskin and the lotus paste. I love it that it is not that sweet!

The skin is really good too! It is thin enough to hold the whole paste, but it is also like abit chewy that kind. Like enough chew one it!

Ritz Carlton Assorted Mooncakes

The assortment comes with 4 different mooncakes inside. It have the lotus paste, single yolk, double yolk and Osmanthus Oolong with Lychee Tea.

I tried the Osmanthus Oolong with Lychee Tea. I didn't really like it. I have to say that the Osmanthus Oolong taste is very strong, and it is very prominent. I think it is too sweet and like too much of the Osmanthus Oolong, like too thick and over powering. The skin is okay, not bad, like not too strong!

I bought it for like $40, cause we have 50% off.
