Food Review Episode 48: Enishi

ivanfenzelyyang

My partner sent me like a tiktok video, that was featuring this restaurant.

ENISHI, a ramen restaurant which has received the "Michelin Bib Gourmand".

So, danielfooddiary and also sethlui went and tried it before.

The shop is pretty small, only have about 9 seats in it. it is a very cosy and very intimate spacing.

You have to place you order before you enter the store and before you take a seat. The menu is very small, just a few selection and you mark your selection on the menu itself.

Once there are seats available, you will enter the then the noodles will be made for you, on the spot and in front of you!

We ordered like 1 each, the dan dan noodle and the dash noodle.

The dash noodle came first. The dash came with 2 pieces of duck and I piece of char siew.

The noodles were like mee pok but more springy then mee pok and taste so much better too! The noodles were made from Dashi as well, cause of the little brown stains in the noodle.

I love the Dashi soup. It was very light, very sweet and it just have the full Dashi flavours. The Dashi soup come with diced onions and with orange peel as well! The orange peel was really a very clever touch and it is just so nice! I just feel like every ingredient in the dash noodle, have every reason to be inside. The ingredients just make sense.

As for the dan dan noodle, even before I eat it, it is super appetising already, just to look at it.

The looks of it remind me abit like bak Chor mee and like just with alot of minced meat. it really did remind me of the dan dan noodles, but my partner don't think it is spicy enough. The peanut taste is there and the you need to mix well, so that that sauce can like coat the noodles. I really prefer the dan dan noodles. It is so flavourful and so nice! It doesn't remind me of like ramen.
