Got my hands on the newest food I think in town!! It is the Mcdonald's Crispy “Hainanese Chicken” Burger, in collaboration with Ben Yeo!

This is not my only review on this burger, cause when I went home after I ordered, the staff didn't hand me the black sauce. So this would be a review without the sauce and second review will be with the black sauce.
The chicken patty remind me of the non-spicy version of the mcspicy, except that the skin might be slightly crispy here! I think the patty was okay, I would say average Mcdonald patty.
I think the differentiator for me is the sauce. The spicy and ginger sauce at the top, together with the cabbage was the one that make it for me. I like the sauce, it is not too spicy and not to gingerly. It was a just nice for me. I think some might not like it, cause the chili sauce is not the chicken rice chili and the ginger sauce too. If you know the Hainanese Chicken Cutlet, and the sauce, with the onion one. It resembled more of that as compared to chicken rice sauce. I think the black sauce might have been the big difference and it was a disappointment that I couldn't have it at the first time.
Next up, I tried the Banana Pie. I love it HAHAHAHAH! Maybe cause bias, but you know how good is the Apple Pie Outer Layer, and I just like that. The filling inside is good too! The banana filling inside is not too sweet and doesn't taste that artificial. It is with banana chunks and it is just the right amount of sweetness that you will not feel like it is super jelak or too much. It is just nice and I finish 2 pies at 1 go. That was how much I like it!
Finally, we have the Kopi Frappe. You know when you go to the coffeeshop and order the Kopi Bing, juts imagine that, but this is ice blended inside too. I like it too! It is not that sweet and the coffee is really like the coffeeshop kind, not the Starbucks kind.
I have to say that overall, the meal remind me of old school coffeeshop food. The main meal is the "chicken rice" and the dessert you buy it from the Makcik store, Goreng Pisang Epok Epok, and Uncle, 1 Kopi Bing. If you look at this, then yes, it is damn apt for the whole image cause it is supposed to represent our national food and coincide with National Day. I think it is a good try and effort from Mcdonald and really not forgetting Ben Yeo. To able to crave out the recipe and work together with Mcdonald on this, it is not easy!
What I would say, is go and try at least once! You might love it, and order more than expected!
